Introduction
US Love is a non-profit, totally self-sufficient, food supply company earning our operating expenses by packaging and distributing a generic brand of basic, non-perishable, food items under our label.
Our immediate goal is to supply food to food banks. Eventually, we want to help with shelter, rehabilitation, education, employment, etc. for the homeless.
Capital will be primarily generated in two ways:
- By packaging nonperishable food items to be distributed through the normal commercial, wholesale channels.
- Contributions in the form of money, products, and services.
We will only accept/purchase, prepare, package, and distribute high quality products.
The retail price will be comparable to name brand products. Our goal is not to take food sales from other companies, it is to generate the means to help those in need by creating a vehicle for those that want to help.
80% of all net profits will be used for food distribution, 10% for expansion, and 10% for growth capital.
US Love will try to enlist its personnel from the homeless ranks, whenever possible.
All company employees, including all executives will work on a pay scale not to exceed those of Peace Corps workers.
The food items will be, canned fruit, vegetables, and meat, dried and powdered products, grains, seasonings and spices, etc.
Packaging will be initially contracted to generic products packaging companies.
Distribution will be done by general distributors.
Retail outlets will be any grocery retailer.
Many of the normally expected obstacles of this type of operation will be overcome because of US Love’s objective.

What makes US Love different than other charities?
US Love will be a truly charitable company.
- No 20% to the people and the rest to the organization.
- No expensive office buildings and high-priced execs.
- No advertising expenses (which will eagerly be done by the media).
- Limited warehousing expenses (products will go straight from the packager to the distributors).
- No shareholders demanding profits, just needy people hoping that we do well so we will have more to share.
- Politicians and public figures that will see the benefits of helping us.
- People will be more eager to contribute effort and resources to an organization that effectively and efficiently uses their donations to the fullest.
Who will form this company?
The company will be created by a group of people with various skills, knowledge, and experience in any aspect of the food industry.
One good source is retired executives and management people from any branch of the food industry. They can furnish all of the necessary expertise from the supply end to distribution.
It has always amazed me at how much knowledge we waste when we put our most knowledgeable people "out to pasture." I am sure we will be deluged with people that want to help, that would relish doing something good with the knowledge and experience that they have acquired.
