Why, some of the "Momma's-Boy" politicians, of course. Not a one of them has the guts to do what our women are doing in Iraq. All they can do is try to put them down by saying that they aren't fit for combat duty. I'd leave it up to the women to decide their level of involvement. I would also make it easy for them to opt out of combat. I wouldn't let some sissies in congress make that determination. In a free country the politicians are supposed to work FOR us (that includes the women), not boss us around. On the other side of this argument, it may create undo pressure on the women if they want out of combat. If we leave it against the rule, and turn a blind eye, they can . . . See where this is going? I hate to see us deal with a problem like children. We let the women choose, and deal harshly with anyone that intimidates them in any way because of their decision. Would that work? |
